A storming end to the season helped Wasps finish as Europe's top-ranked side (picture from www.wasps.co.uk)

Toulouse Another French championship title for Toulouse, at the expensive of Clermont-Auvergne, who fall at the last hurdle yet again
Previous winners

Another season ends with English Premiership play-off winners Wasps heading the rankings, thanks to a remarkable end to the season. They are followed by the top two French sides - Clermont led the way virtually the whole season only to be pipped in the final by Toulouse. As a result the star-studded side from Auvergne finish the season in 3rd.
European champions Munster lie 4th and would have been ranked higher had they not had a rather disappointing run in the Magners League. The winners of the title Leinster end the season in 9th.
Heineken Cup semi-finalists London Irish finish in 5th a place above Challenge Cup winners Bath.
Cardiff (11th) and Ospreys (14th) flattered to deceive and will be relatively disappointed with their seasons. Not as much though as Newcastle (28th), Ulster (31st), Scarlets (32nd) and Dragons (33rd)will be!!!
